Paul Mason
I'm a full time freelance cartoonist. I think, draw and eat (if they didn't sell) cartoons. My current projects include humorous illustrations for instructional books, self syndicated and commissioned online comic strips, commemorative paintings, logo design, advertising, t-shirt designs, web graphics, a quarterly full page magazine comic... oh and canoeing as much as possible.

I look forward to "working creatives" meetings because we always have cookies, well the people you meet there are interesting too. Seriously though, now that almost all of my work is solicited, commissioned and delivered via the web, it's nice to get out and talk with other creatives.

Peter Handley R.G.D.
Over the last 5 and a half years of being a self-employed 'creative', the scope of my work has expanded far beyond what I ever would have dreamed it ever would have. Being able to share my book design, retail packaging, web interface and architecture consultation, and other design experiences with others is just one way to share and learn even more about what is going on in the creative world in Ottawa.

Being able to connect with other working creatives from all walks of life is a great opportunity to re-charge and inspire after being cooped up inside all day/week/month/season!

Roberta Gal
I'm a full-time graphic designer at Natural Resources Canada. My work consists of client consultation, conceptual work through to production of reports, exhibits, posters and various other printed materials. I am also bringing more photography into my work. I've been honing those skills over the years as well and believe that they are a terrific compliment to making my work experience as well as the final printed results more dynamic. I also do the occasional freelance job on the side, just to provide some variety.

Being a part of the Working Creatives group gives me the chance to see what's going on "out there", as us government folks can get caught up in our "inner circle". It also gives me the opportunity to talk to and learn from photographers so that I can continue to expand that aspect of my career. People seem to be curious about the inner workings of government and I am happy to return the favour by giving them some insight into that world. Last but not least, creative people are interesting to talk to, so regardless of the work angle, the conversation is always good!

Alex Leblanc
I'm an artist-photographer working in the traditional field and in digital photography. I have been participating in some exhibitions in the Ottawa-Gatineau art galleries. For the past few years I have been teaching photography and media classes in a local Ottawa high school. Lately I have inaugurated my own photography studio in downtown Gatineau (Hull) where I offer different photography services on top of using it for my own artistic creation.

Rental Studio: My studio is designed to allow me a constant production as the profits contribute towards the use and maintenance costs. The studio offers a large photography studio and darkroom fully equipped for rent on a daily or weekly basis. It can accommodate most kinds of photography with high quality studio equipment, from studio lighting to a large size darkroom as well as some dry mounting and framing equipment.

I'm proud to be a member of the Working Creative group. It allows me to meet fellow artists and share ideas and visions.

Claudia Salguero
I am an image creator. My Photo-Fine-Art images are a combination between photography, digital art and traditional art. They are cityscapes and portraits sold in galleries or commissioned by clients. During the last seven years, my creativity has expanded by looking other artists works and also by sharing with them my points of view and techniques. I think this is the best way to learn and go beyond your own expectations. The Working Creative group gives all creative people in town the opportunity to do so and to get involved with people from different backgrounds but the same goal: create.
