It&#8217;s a fine time of the year for me. Shooting this fine festival is <strong>the easy part<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The challenging part<\/strong> is finding the photos a market. Media passes are granted with the <strong>expectation<\/strong> that <em>the photographer (that&#8217;s me)<\/em> will get the <em>event (that&#8217;s Bluesfest)<\/em> press and <strong>media attention<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.harrynowell.com\/Photo\/OttBluesfest.jpg\" alt=\"Ottawa Bluesfest\" height=\"176\" width=\"491\" \/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.listentofeist.com\/\" onclick=\"return TrackClick('http%3A%2F%2Fwww.listentofeist.com%2F','Feist')\" title=\"Feist\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Feist<\/a> playing to her fans. Shot on a panoramic film camera.<\/p>\n<p><em>My Bluesfest photos have been licensed<\/em> to a range of media outlets over the years. My favourite usage was by the federal government to promote tourism in Canada. A generic concert shot showing off the Bluesfest stage, below, was printed in the <strong>LA Times<\/strong>, <strong>NY Times<\/strong> and <strong>Boston Globe<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.harrynowell.com\/Photo\/OttBluesfest2.jpg\" alt=\"Ottawa Bluesfest\" height=\"225\" width=\"320\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Tomorrow I meet with a client about some Bluesfest imagery in anticipation of Bluesfest&#8217;s <em>15th anniversary<\/em>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tweet Ottawa Bluesfest is coming.
