It was THE camera for photojournalists back then.<\/p>\n<p>In the scope of large format cameras the Graflex is small.<br \/>\n4&#215;5 is massive compared modern SLR cameras. Yes, yes, good, big prints can be made by modern digital cameras. I have a giga-mega pixel camera that I use commercially (and I love it.)<\/p>\n<p>But what I really love is the process of BIG. It&#8217;s slow and forces you to be precise. New is nice but, erm, <a title=\"8x10 camera\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bhphotovideo.com\/c\/product\/390997-REG\/Arca_Swiss_014181_M_Monolith_8x10_View_Camera.html\" onclick=\"return TrackClick('http%3A%2F%2Fwww.bhphotovideo.com%2Fc%2Fproduct%2F390997-REG%2FArca_Swiss_014181_M_Monolith_8x10_View_Camera.html','8x10+camera')\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">pricey<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>So, after hours of internet snooping and talking to people, I decided to build one.<br \/>\nIt&#8217;s well on it&#8217;s way, thanks to John, friend, neigbour, engineer and grade 7 classmate.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve also been excited about trying two new things that haven&#8217;t been done much.<br \/>\nFun and exciting for Harry.<br \/>\n<em>Stay tuned.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tweet I&#8217;ve chatted about large format cameras before and have been shooting on medium and large format film for years for Watershed and other work.
