People rode the digital wave high on pixels instead of film chemistry. It seems there has been a bit of a film revolution in Japan &#8211; see the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pdnonline.com\" onclick=\"return TrackClick('http%3A%2F%2Fwww.pdnonline.com','Photo+District+News')\" title=\"Photo District News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Photo District News<\/a> article below.<\/p>\n<p>In reality, film never died, it just became less mainstream. People have continued to shoot film and will always continue &#8211; there are many positives to film and many positives to digital, of course.<\/p>\n<p>I have always thought film photography will follow the trends of Black &amp; White photography. After colour photo technology emerged B&amp;W retained a strong following.
