I did not want a classroom based course &#8211; imagine learning to drive a car solely from a classroom!<\/p>\n<p>We will meet in central Ottawa\/Hull locations to photograph a variety of challenges:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>night life<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>street portraits<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>architectural detail<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>followed by a <strong>critique session<\/strong> in a central classroom. The flexible course agenda will take advantage of weather and available events. We will be shooting inside and\/or outside.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.harrynowell.com\/Photo\/sessions.jpg\" alt=\"Sessions\" height=\"139\" width=\"426\" \/><br \/>\n<em><strong>Sessions<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Details: <\/strong>The course covers 4 weeknight evenings in November: 7-9:30pm. Very fun for photographers with some base photo skills! This is a tough leap that requires:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>good photography skills<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>good business skills &#8211; perhaps more important than photo skills<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>good people skills<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>patience<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>persistence<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A new business is often depicted as an uphill battle! No one can ever guarantee your business success. Never. There are ways to <strong>stack the odds<\/strong> in your favour. This program is designed to help!<\/p>\n<p><img src=\"http:\/\/www.harrynowell.com\/Photo\/uphill.jpg\" alt=\"Uphill battle?\" \/><br \/>\n<em><strong>Persistence, patience and smart work = good business <\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>The flexible year long process involves:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Choice of five or more photo courses at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.harrynowell.com\/ottawa_photography_workshop_class_course.html\" onclick=\"return TrackClick('http%3A%2F%2Fwww.harrynowell.com%2Fottawa_photography_workshop_class_course.html','Photo+class')\" title=\"Photo class\">HarryNowell.com<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>One-on-one sessions<\/strong> throughout the year to review work, set goals, discuss business practices<\/li>\n<li><strong>Work experience<\/strong> &#8211; the student must arrange 40 hours of co-op work experience in an environment that meets their goals.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Final evaluation and report<\/strong> &#8211; we review the student&#8217;s final portfolio that will be produced with a client presentation in mind. A <strong>written evaluation and certificate<\/strong> will be delivered.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The program also includes <strong>phone and email support<\/strong> throughout the year.<\/p>\n<p>The course provides elements that will set the groundwork for a business in photography.
