During December we had the chance to take on a photo student from Algonquin College. We both learned. Below is his take on the life of a photographer and a few of his photos.<\/p>\n

“40 Hours In the Life of a Professional Photographer.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Hi my name is Matt Usherwood I\u2019m a young local Ottawa photographer new to this industry. I had the opportunity to intern with Harry for 40 hours. <\/em><\/p>\n

To sum up a co-op placement I spent 8+ hours with him for a number of days and do whatever he asks me to do, whether that be cleaning garbage cans (<\/em>ed. note: it was only one!) to assisting him on shoots. When I first came into this internship I had no idea what to expect. <\/em><\/p>\n

I\u2019ve been behind the scenes in a photographer’s life. We\u2019ve had discussions on certain topics, he has also answered a lot of questions I\u2019ve had for a while. I had the opportunity to work with him on some assignments and meet some clients. This internship was a big eye opener for me. <\/em><\/p>\n

I wish I had more time than 40 hours to intern with him.<\/em><\/p>\n

When I finish school in April I plan to go tree planting and travel. I don\u2019t know where I\u2019ll live yet but I know I will find work where ever I go as long as I am persistent about it.<\/em><\/p>\n
