First an <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.photrade.com\/?p=181\" onclick=\"return TrackClick('http%3A%2F%2Fblog.photrade.com%2F%3Fp%3D181','interesting+article')\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">interesting article<\/a> by Krista Neher. She <strong>blasts<\/strong> the blas\u00e9 idea that it&#8217;s <strong>ok to pilfer online pictures<\/strong>. She <em>follows up<\/em> with an article: &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/hyperphocal.com\/?p=101\" onclick=\"return TrackClick('http%3A%2F%2Fhyperphocal.com%2F%3Fp%3D101','photo+theft')\" title=\"photo theft\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">5 most outrageous photo thefts<\/a>&#8221; posted at hyperfocal.com.<\/p>\n<p>There is also an article posted at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pdnonline.com\" onclick=\"return TrackClick('http%3A%2F%2Fwww.pdnonline.com','Photo+District+News')\" title=\"Photo District News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Photo District News<\/a> about a new licensing agreement between stock giant <strong>Getty<\/strong> and <strong>Flickr<\/strong>. Read about the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pdnonline.com\/pdn\/newswire\/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1003825627\" onclick=\"return TrackClick('http%3A%2F%2Fwww.pdnonline.com%2Fpdn%2Fnewswire%2Farticle_display.jsp%3Fvnu_content_id%3D1003825627','stock+licensing')\" title=\"stock licensing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">interesting photo licensing deal<\/a>!<\/p>\n<p>You may want to show off <strong>your stunning photo successes<\/strong> on the web &#8211; and you have good reason to be proud! But <strong>be careful<\/strong> out there:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>  sometimes your photos can be <strong>snatched<\/strong> and illegally used around the world. <strong>So what?<\/strong> How would you feel if someone stole your car, skis, stereo? It also brings commercial photography to a new low making it harder to make a living!<\/li>\n<li>read <a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/terms.php\" onclick=\"return TrackClick('http%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fterms.php','Yikes%21')\" title=\"Yikes!\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Facebook&#8217;s policies for photos<\/strong><\/a>. An <strong>edited excerpt<\/strong>: &#8220;By posting User Content to any part of the Site, you automatically grant &#8230; to the Company (ie Facebook) an irrevocable, perpetual, non-exclusive, transferable, fully paid, worldwide license &#8230; to use, copy, publicly perform, publicly display, reformat, translate, excerpt &#8230; for any purpose etc.&#8221; <strong>Yikes! <\/strong>I won&#8217;t post my photos there outside my headshot!<\/li>\n<li><strong>watermark your photos<\/strong> &#8211; it promotes the idea that <em>your photo is worth signing<\/em> and makes it <em>harder to pilfer<\/em>.
